I can't believe I haven't commented this yet. It is a very real image, and the drama here is significant. Great work in taking something so simply and allowing it to impact so many here on DA. It's minds like yours that we need in this world to show us tragedy in it's very raw form. Evoking thought is what will save this world if there is any hope...

That hurricane was horrible D:
My neighbor's tree almost fell on their house, my mom and dad's cars flooded (they were hot and smelled horrible) and my neighborhood was filled with mud from the flood u_u
I live rather close to the barrier islands and when we heard about what was going on over there, we all got worried :0
This picture is really cool though, the colors are pretty *o*

Check the "Camera Data" of the right-hand column of the page. In case of this image, it's Canon EOS 7D.

I take the short yellow bus so I am ok.

When they knew Sandy was coming, they shut down the schools in advance.
Probably no one was inside.

Looks great.

It's really terrible, isn't it?

The echoed yellow pulls it all together as well as lending a lighter touch to the scene.

I wasn't sure if that was real just then. O.o I was thinking 'It's gotta a little... something... on the roof.'

I love the little spots of yellow - the sign, the bus and the posts down the street - providing a splash of colour to the darker tones. Nice capture. :D

Thank you! It was pretty nuts. I'm originally from Ireland so seeing stuff like this can be over whelming, but was completely safe from all the damage fortunately.
